I couldn't sleep last night, so I decided to read through one of my old dream journals. I'm not sure the (very short) one below is Patrick-related, but to be safe I'm going to write it down here anyway.
This entry was from August 23, 2007.
(I had just started writing "Come Back To Me" in late March/early April).
What could this dream possibly mean?
I received an envelope in the mail. Inside was a fold out sheet of addresses of several agents. When I checked the postmark it read “Scotland.” The letters were printed in orange.

Last night I was customizing the colors on my profile page on a forum that I frequent. I just couldn't decide between the
blue or green for the longest time. I guess Patrick was watching me obsess over that b/c after I clicked on green on the color
palette (for like the millionth time) I heard a male voice to my side say - "Leave that." Lol!
(Or "Keep that." It slips my mind just now).
Of course, a few minutes later I didn't listen to him. I changed it to brown.
You could hear a pin drop:
Ummm.... news on the Patrick front.
(thinking)........
......................
(thinking).........
.....................(thinking)
I got nothing. Nothing interesting anyway.
One night, when my cat entered my bedroom while I was reading before going to sleep, I heard him greet her. He said "Hello, Wendy."
Or "Hello, Kitty." I will admit that I did find that pretty funny at the time.
I also heard him - and others - a few other times, but I have no idea what he/they said. I'm really growing tired of that. If I can hear snippets of them and am aware I have visitors, I want to know what the heck it is that they're saying! I really need to try to develop my clairaudience. The last time it was developing, I found it incredibly annoying so I told them to go away... which they did.
This is OT, but...... I've learned that spirits are BOSSY! I can't even begin to tell you how many times I'll be at the computer at night, or reading in bed, when a spirit will tell me to "Go to Sleep."
Oh! And the other night, right after I turned off the light to go to sleep I made myself to tell Patrick "Goodnight." (I rarely do this b/c it just feels weird. I do force myself to do it sometimes though b/c I do believe spirits like it when we acknowledge them). So anyway, I said Goodnight, and then I heard a faint reply - male voice - a few seconds later. (Which never happens). Directly after that, I heard that female voice (which I hear a lot in my room at night) say - "That's sweet."
Last night I heard - and loudly - a male voice ask "Kristin?" I also heard another loud male voice earlier in the night, but I've no idea what he said. All I know is it was 5 words.
This was a real exciting entry, huh?
In the spirit of trying to keep things on topic--
At first I didn't think this important enough to write down, and then I decided to write it down anyway... but ended up forgetting.
A few weeks ago I had a line inside my head that I was thinking I should have put into my book. It was just a simple quote along the lines that when the heroine is in the hero's company, he feels at peace.
So a couple days later I was playing that "Remember" song by Josh Groban from the Troy soundtrack. It made me think of watching snippets of the movie. (We had had the HD-dvd for a while now, only I'd never bothered to watch any of it). Well I put it in and there's a line from Achilles where he says "You gave me peace in a lifetime of war." I thought the timing for that a little weird, but I'm still not sure it wasn't just a coincidence.
Think... Think... Think
Overanalyzing or not?
Seems I'm not alone in receiving a form rejection from Trident after they read the full. Yesterday I posted my rejection letter on a writer's board, curious as to if anyone else received the exact same letter. Afterwards, I noticed that the poster above me (whose name is Patrick, btw) said he sent his full ms request to Trident Media, and that his rejection was a form letter.
So this morning I received a private message from him saying that his form rejection was the same as mine word-for-word.
I agree with Patrick #2. It's pretty lame. Now, does this mean that MY Patrick sent this other Patrick to make me feel better?
Don't think so, but that would have been a pretty thought. I don't think my Patrick had anything to do with that since I noticed this guy's posts
days before, when his posts were just above and below one of my own.
But, as always, what do I know? Maybe it was something, and right now Patrick is annoyed with me for not accepting it. I have learned that he's good at impressing things upon people. This "Patrick" person was the only one to PM me about that rejection.
Coincidence or confirmation?
You wanna know how desperate this upset has gotten me? Well I'll tell ya.
One of the replies to my post yesterday was someone nitpicking how in the rejection letter their grammar was poor.
---------
They quoted a section of my rejection:
"Please understand ... what one agent thinks might be different than the views of other literary agents."
Then they responded to that:
Hmmm, I thought it was a form letter until I read that annoying grammar error.
If it were a form, it probably would've been proofed to read "different from" the views of others.
---------
Now just WHY would something so trivial catch my attention? Because I was desperate to have some sort of sign that Patrick is around, or was it an actual sign?
I'll explain below:
One of my top favorite films of all time (I'm talking up there with Phantom of the Opera) is the old black-and-white film The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. I go through spells where I'm am just obsessed with watching this movie. Just a couple days ago actually, I was thinking of watching it again. Anyway, in this film the ghost of Captain Gregg helps Lucy write a book so that she can afford to keep Gull Cottage. There's a scene in there, when they've just started writing, that Lucy admonishes the captain's word usage.
Below I'll paste part of that scene:
Captain Gregg: (recites) "The customs of Marseilles are different to any--"
Lucy Muir: "Different from."
Captain Gregg: "To or from, who cares? This isn't a blasted literary epic.
It's the unvarnished story of a seaman's life."
-----
So maybe that really was Patrick's way of telling me he's around? Most signs
are subtle and not grandstanding. Not to mention that I have always thought
of this latest book of mine as being similar to The G&MM in that I think
Patrick helped me write it. I wish I knew for sure that this meant something.
I'm pretty bad about recognizing signs b/c I tend to overanalyze and not have
much faith in them.
That is, when the signs happen TO ME. Lol!
